I'm not sure you should be making light of this. It could be a simple case of Dipsy hanging herself after being trapped inside a sweaty fur suit for ten years.
EmmaK, do you think it might qualify as a hate crime? I mean, they did tie her to the back of a truck and have been dragging her around for weeks. I seem to recall a case in Texas, I think it involved Tinky Winky ...
Your cats are adorable. Especially Spongebob stinkypants. The look he had in the bathtub was adorable.
I don't know where the garbage men found two identical toys to hang, but there is something oddly disturbing about it. I was very relieved when my daughter lost interest in that show. It was creepy.

Karen, Spongebob is a handful and then some. He likes trouble. That teletubby show was creepy somehow. I don't know it was about it specifically, but it was just not right.
