Fathers Day Weekend 2005

I went home for Fathers' Day weekend. I had several people to see.

My Hometown is known as "Rocketown" by the few who even know the city exists.

After passing the rockets I saw what I never see in Memphis ... mountains!

Old friends

The famous D Bryan - ladies man and the only man Evan thinks is truly funny.

That night was a big get-together with friends from college whom I hadn't seen an awhile.

A friend named Evan, who lived in town, didn't bother to show up. We knew where he lived so 'someone' paid him a friendly visit.

Mail's here!

Some mysterious person abused perfectly good toilet paper all over the front yard of Evan's house!

Who? Who would do such a thing?!

Surely not the famous D. Bryan, church pianist and respected engineer!

The next morning ...

Lovely trees

Evan had already cleaned most of it up by the time I came by to say, "Hello."

He wasn't home, so I had to head to the rest of the reunion without him.

The next afternoon was another get-together on the top of the mountain.

At about 4 p.m. I had to run back down the mountain from the reunion to meet up with my best friend and go back completely over the mountain to his sister's house for a birthday party.

Over the river and through the woods ... to ... you get the idea

Seeing you seeing me

Some of the best people I ever knew.

Girls and waterballoons gone wild!

Dave is thinking, "One day I'm gonna build something. Something substantial that will stand the test of time. Something ... like this swingset!"

2 future All-Stars.

After the party I headed home for my father's Father's Day celebration.
The next afternoon I had to head back to Memphis, but I really didn't want to.
I talked to several people about coming to work in my old hometown.

Maybe one day I will.

Comments:
These pictures were fantastic. You went t-ping?! How cool is that!!! Hope it doesn't rain! lol

M~

D Bryan was actually hoping it WOULD rain, but it didn't. Evan said it was easy to take down. We used the cheap stuff and it wouldn't throw as high as good 2-ply roll. Never go cheap on a good TPing.

I love getting together with old friends like that. I don't get to do that much anymore, but every now and then I make it back down to Texas!

I haven't seen any of my family in Texas in YEARS. I wonder if they'd even recognize me? I wonder if I'd recognize them? Wow, I hadn't thought about this until now.

Sounds like you had a good time, Steve...good for you...:)
